Anima Trattoria & Wine Bar was developed by husband and wife team, Renaldo and Angela, with the intention of bringing a little piece of Italy to their Etobicoke neighbourhood. Our aspiration is to provide a place where diners can feed their soul while sipping wine. Inspired by the many trattorie across Italy, we strive to provide an upscale dining experience in a casual and cozy setting.
Passione della mia anima, meaning passion of my soul, is the motto Executive Chef Renaldo lives his life by, and that soul-filled passion infuses his cooking. Chef Renaldo has crafted a menu which elevates typical Italian dishes, while still staying true to the Italian home-style tradition.
Reflecting the values of fresh and local, which is central to Italian cuisine, Chef Renaldo places a strong emphasis on using the finest ingredients in his cooking, supporting local businesses wherever possible. From our fresh and homemade pasta to our locally sourced meats to our heavenly tiramisu made with love by Mamma Graziella.
Each item on Anima’s menu is meant to pair perfectly with one of our versatile wines, which have been carefully culled by Anima’s in-house Sommelier, Lisa Inacio, to reflect Italy’s diverse regions and geography.
